Shotgun Sports Valentines Day Shoot

We know you’ll be busy with your sweetheart on Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, February 14th.
So, to make it easy on you, we’re gonna have a Valentine’s Trap Shoot on the Saturday PRIOR to Valentine’s Day-Saturday, February 11th at 1:00 PM. Love is in the air and so are clay targets!
In the event of inclement weather (rain, extreme cold or very high wind), we will use Sunday, February 12th at 1PM as a make-up date. We will send an email out by 9am on Saturday if the event will be postponed till Sunday.
Since Valentine’s Day is based on two hearts, it’s only fitting we shoot two birds-yep, the event format will be 100 trap targets,
thrown as two rounds of 25 Doubles from the 16 yard line. Cost for the event is $30 per shooter ($22 for students 18 and under)
Tie breakers if needed: highest one-round score, then longest string from the start, etc. Max #7 ½ shot, max 1290 FPS.
We’ll have the coveted 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Gold, Silver and Bronze BCCSC Shotgun Sports medals up for grabs.
In addition, high overall score for the two rounds of doubles will win a $50 Applebee’s Gift Card.
Highest single round of doubles will win a limited edition bottle of Dunworth’s fine wine (not available in stores!)
There will be three random drawings for heart- shaped Brachs Valentine Chocolate assortments.
After the doubles event, there will be an optional “Long Bird” event. This will consist of 10 targets thrown as true pairs. You may only load TWO shells at a time.
One target will be thrown from the trap house (non-oscillating). You must break this bird first to shoot at the second target.
You may shoot twice at the first target if you miss on the first shot. The second target will be thrown from one of the 5 Stand traps placed ahead of the trap house-this bird will be high, fast and far, hence the “Long Bird” name of the event.
You get 1 point for each target broken. High point total wins. $5.00 entry per shooter with 75% of total entry fees payback to the winner!
You can shoot more than once (time permitting) for an additional $5.00 entry. In case of a tie, “shoot till you miss” format shoot-off
will be used to determine the winner. So bring some extra shells and chokes and give it a try!
Max #7 ½ shot, no speed limit!
