The Michigan Defense Academy CPL class is designed for both new firearm owners and experienced shooters that want to obtain their Michigan CPL and learn safe firearm handling, defensive mindset, and the legal responsibilities of carrying.

Todd Sider
As founder and lead instructor of Michigan Defense Academy, Todd Sider bringing decades of real-world firearms experience to the CPL class. Todd follows a disciplined, safety-first teaching approach to every course he leads.
As a USCCA-Certified Firearms Instructor, Todd is authorized to teach: Concealed Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals (Michigan CPL/CCW), Countering the Mass Shooter Threat, Protecting Houses of Worship, Women’s Defensive Shooting, Children’s Firearms & Safety Fundamentals, and multiple defensive handgun programs. His instruction goes beyond minimum requirements—focusing on mindset, decision-making, legal responsibility, and practical defensive skills students can apply immediately.
Known for small class sizes and hands-on coaching, Todd creates a professional, supportive learning environment where students of all experience levels feel confident asking questions and developing real competence. His courses emphasize safe firearm handling, situational awareness, Michigan law, and responsible carry, ensuring students leave prepared—not just certified.

Branch County Conservation and Sportsman’s Club (BCCSC):
BCCSC founded in 1950. It is a non-profit organization offering our membership the opportunity to enjoy the shooting sports (rifle, pistol, shotgun) and archery at a safe, well equipped facility. Members have access to our heated Clubhouse, heated indoor archery range, outdoor archery range, 20 yard Pistol bay, 50/100/200/300 yard Rifle range with target backers and steel targets at each yardage (both offer enclosed, heated shooting stations for year round use). Shotgun sports include Trap and 5 Stand with a covered pavilion nearby. The facilities are available for recreational shooting and are also used for scheduled competitive events.
